Temporary Visas

There are two primary streams within the 485 visa category: the Graduate Work stream and the Post-Study Work stream.

The Graduate Work stream is designed for graduates with qualifications and skills that are in demand in Australia, enabling them to work, study, and live in the country temporarily.

The Post-Study Work stream allows recent graduates from Australian institutions to gain valuable work experience regardless of their field of study, fostering their career development and contributing to the Australian workforce.

One of the key features of this visa is that it is a points-based visa, where applicants are assessed based on various factors like age, education, work experience, and English language proficiency. The higher the applicant's point score, the better their chances of receiving an invitation to apply for this visa.

The Skilled Independent visa is a pathway to not only realising one's career aspirations but also experiencing the unique Australian way of life.

The nomination process involves demonstrating that the applicant's skills and expertise are in demand in the nominating state or territory.

Once nominated, applicants can then apply for the visa. This visa is a pathway to Australian citizenship, and it offers several benefits, including access to Australia's healthcare and education systems and the ability to sponsor eligible family members for permanent residency.
