Accredited Employer Work Visas

  • Employer Accreditation

    The employer must hold one of four accreditation types with Immigration New Zealand. The type you need will depend on how many migrants you wish to employ, whether you hire workers out or, if you are a franchisee business.

    Organisations need to demonstrate they are financially viable and comply with employment and immigration law.

    Accreditation is valid for 12-24 months.

  • Job Check

    An accredited employer must apply for a job check to . Labour Market Testing with particular advertising requirements is usually required. A template of employment documentation, including employment agreement and job description must be checked by Immigration New Zealand.

    One job check can cover multiple positions as long as the positions are the same. Job checks are valid for 6 months.

  • Migrant Check (Visa Application)

    The migrant applies for the work visa. Migrants will need to demonstrate they have the qualifications and work experience required for the role.

    Standard health and character requirements must also be met.

    Accredited Employer Work Visas are valid for up to three years (five years from 27 November 2023).
